Two Hurt In Van Crash In Darlington

Two pedestrians have been taken to hospital after they were hit by a van outside a Darlington supermarket.
A 58-year-old man and a woman aged 44 were injured in the collision outside Morrisons on North Road.
The driver of the Vauxhall Combo van was also injured and is being treated in hospital.
A Durham Police spokeswoman said one of the pedestrians suffered head injuries and the other facial injuries.
The spokeswoman said on Tuesday:
"We got a call at about 9.45am today to reports of a vehicle colliding with two pedestrians outside Morrisons supermarket on North Road, in Darlington.
A 58-year-old man and a 44-year-old woman were taken to James Cook University Hospital, in Middlesbrough, one with head injuries, one with facial injuries.
The driver of the van, a Vauxhall Combo van, was also injured and is being treated in hospital.''
The road was closed in both directions for around 3 hours and police advised drivers to avoid the area.
