A couple who went missing in County Durham with their four-month-old baby, who is in the care of social services, have been found in a pub.
Sarah Corbett and Stephen Moses drove off with their daughter Kourtney on Monday after a pre-arranged visit between the baby and her mother at the social services office in Stanley, County Durham.
Officers found the couple and the baby at the Cricketers Arms pub in Barnard Castle on Tuesday afternoon.
31 year old Sarah Corbett and 29 year old Stephen Moses have been arrested on suspicion of exposing the child to neglect and are being questioned by police.
A Durham Police spokesman said:
"Shortly before 5pm this afternoon officers arrived at the Cricketers Arms pub, in Barnard Castle, after reports suggesting Stephen Moses, Sarah Corbett and their baby daughter, Kourtney, were at the address.
Officers found Stephen Moses outside the premises having a cigarette and they quickly detained him, they then entered the property and discovered mother and daughter in one of the upstairs bedrooms.
Kourtney has now been returned to the care of the local authority and both parents have been arrested on suspicion of exposing the child to neglect. They are currently detained at separate police stations in Co Durham.''
