Mephedrone Worth Almost £5000 Seized In Gateshead

Three people have been arrested and drugs and cash seized after an intelligence led operation in Gateshead.
A search warrant was executed at a house in the Bensham area on Monday, 6th of February, where officers seized half a kilo of Mephedrone (M-cat) with an estimated street value of £4,500, drugs paraphernalia and £4,000 in cash.
The arrested people include two 19-year-old men, one from Seaham and the other from Gateshead and a 20-year-old woman, also from Gateshead. All have been bailed pending further enquiries.
Acting Neighbourhood Inspector Colin Lowther of Gateshead Area Command, said:
"Dealing, selling or taking drugs in Gateshead will not be tolerated by the police. Drugs cause harm in our communities and we are committed to doing everything we can to stamp them out. If anyone has any information of drug taking or selling where they live then contact the police so we can gather information and take action."
