Man Injured In Hartlepool Park Attack
A man has sustained serious injuries after being attacked by a gang of five or six men in Hartlepool, police said.
The 36-year-old victim was riding his bike through Park Square with his dog between 10.30pm and 11pm on October 7 when he was assaulted.
He was initially approached by two men who attacked him and he was thrown to the floor.
A further five or six men then began assaulting the victim who was eventually knocked unconscious.
It is believed that some of the group then got into a vehicle, possibly a 4x4, on Jesmond Gardens.
The man sustained head injuries including a fractured cheek bone, broken nose and a possible fractured skull in the incident and was later treated in hospital.
The two suspects that approached the victim first are described as in their late twenties or early thirties, of medium build and both wearing Lacoste tops with dark bottoms.
Anyone who may have witnessed the incident is asked to contact DC Simon Clark of Hartlepool CID on 01642 302110 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
