Man Hit By Lorry In Newcastle

A man's died after being hit by a lorry in Walker.
72 year old Richard Jones from Wall Terrace, Walker, was knocked down on Fossway near it's junction with Valentia Avenue at 7:30am today (Friday 13th July).
He was taken to Newcastle's RVI with head injuries where he later died.
The driver of the lorry's been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.
Fossway was closed for around 3 hours while police looked into what happened.
