Man Hit By Gateshead Train

A man is critically ill in hospital after being hit by a metro in Gateshead.

The 39-year-old, whos from Gateshead, was hit by the train at Gateshead Stadium at around 11pm last night.

Firefighters had to free him from under the train.

He is currently in a critical condition in hospital.
