Man Dies After Newcastle Assault

Detectives investigating the murder of a man at a house in the West End of Newcastle have arrested three men.
The body of a man believed to be in his 30s was found in Wingrove Avenue in the west end of Newcastle at 5.25am on Wednesday, March 7th.
Shortly afterwards a 28-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder.
Two other men aged 29 and 43 years have also been arrested on suspicion of murder.
All three are from the Newcastle area and are helping police with their enquiries.
Police are continuing to appeal for witnesses.
Detective Chief Inspector Nicola Musgrove, who is leading the investigation, said:
"We want to speak to anyone who may have information which could help our enquiries.
In particular anyone who was in the area of Wingrove Avenue at the relevant time and who may have seen or heard anything suspicious is asked to contact police straightaway.
Officers are still trying to piece together the sequence of events which led to this death."
Neighbourhood Inspector Leigh McManus said:
"A team of detectives are investigating this incident and three arrests have been made in connection with it. We believe those people involved are known to each other.
Additional patrols are taking place in the area to provide reassurance to residents and anyone with any concerns should speak with their local officers."

Relatives are still being informed and we are not yet in a position to name the deceased.
