A son has appeared in court and denied the murder of both of his parents in Newcastle.
Martin Ruddy, from South Tyneside, is accused of killing his dad Eric, 64, and mum Carol, 54, at their home on Bentinck Street on December 14 last year.
The 28-year-old appeared at the city's crown court today (WED) via videolink to HMP Durham.
He pleaded not guilty to the two charges of murder he faces.
A trial, which could take up to three weeks, has been listed for June 8.
A further, administrative hearing will take place on May 15.
Judge Paul Sloan qc told him:
"In the meantime you will be remanded in custody".
No application was made for bail.
