Man Charged With Killing Son In County Durham

A man's been charged with killing his baby son in Gainford near Darlington last February.

Five month old Charlee Cameron Clark was admitted to Darlington Memorial Hospital with serious head injuries on February 25th, 2011. 

The baby, who lived with his parents in Neville Close in Gainford, between Darlington and Barnard Castle was then transferred to a specialist unit at Newcastle's Royal Victoria Infirmary. However, he died from his injuries the following Tuesday, 1st March.

27 year old Lee Clark's been charged with Charlee's manslaughter.

He appeared before Peterlee Magistrates on Saturday 28th January where he was granted bail.

Under the conditions of his bail, he must live at the home of a family member in Fife in Scotland and report every Wednesday to Cowdenbeath police station.

He will remain on conditional bail until his next court appearance, which is due to take place at Newcastle Crown Court on Wednesday 8th February.
