Man Beaten and Stabbed Outside Newcastle Pub
A man's been beaten and stabbed by a group of men outside a pub in Newcastle.
Police say a group of 8 or 9 men got out of the back of a white Vauxhall Vivaro van at the Fosse Hotel Pub on The Fossway in Walker, armed with metal bars, bats and knives. It happened at about 4:20pm on the 8th December.
The 30-year-old man was left with a stab wound and a fractured skull. A woman who was also standing outside the pub was also hurt and taken to hospital, but has been released. After the assault, the men also smashed the pub windows.
They got back into the van and fled the scene, closely followed by a gold Range Rover. Both vehicles were later found abandoned after being involved in a collision, and have been seized by police.
Police believe everyone involved knew each other. There's going to be extra police patrols in the area over the weekend.
