Man Attacked With Machete In Gateshead

A man has been left injured after he was allegedly attacked with a machete outside a pub in Gateshead.

At around 9.10pm on Friday police received a report of a man with a machete outside the Malting House Inn in Felling.

Officers attended the scene where a man had sustained an injury to his arm.

It is believed the incident may be linked to an earlier report of a collision on Sunderland Road in Felling.

It is not believed to be life threatening.

Four men have been arrested in connection with the incident and are currently helping police with enquiries.

Extra officers are in the area carrying out enquiries and providing reassurance to the community.
