Gateshead Murder: Man Charged

Police investigating the death of a woman in Gateshead have charged a man with murder.

The body of 42 year old Michelle Jane Grey was found at a house on Hillfield Street in Bensham on Friday (19th December).

41 year old Carl Anderson from Hillfield Street, has been charged with murder and is due to appear at Gateshead Magistrates today.

Police investigating the death of a woman in Gateshead are questioning a man in connection with her murder.

At 8:30pm on Friday, December 19, police attended an address in Hillfield Street in Bensham and found the body of a 42-year-old woman.

Superintendent Richie Jackson said:
"I'd like to thank the public for their help in this matter and reporting information to police.

The investigation is on-going and we would continue to ask anyone with information to contact police".

Police are investigating the death of a woman in Gateshead.

At 8:30pm on Friday, December 19, police attended an address in Hillfield Street in Bensham.

Inside the property they found the body of a 42-year-old woman.

Her death is being treated as suspicious at this time and enquiries are ongoing.

Gateshead Chief Inspector Steve Ammari said:
"We are carrying out enquiries into this woman's death and there are extra officers in the Bensham area  carrying out enquiries and extra patrols.

There will continue to be a police presence in the area throughout the day and I'd ask anyone with any concerns to speak with an officer."
