Soccer Express put flyers on cars at the Stadium of Light advertising travel to the FA Cup semi final at Wembley BEFORE the quarter final last night .
Sunderland were eventually beaten 2-0 by Everton in the quarter final - which saw their opponents go on to face Liverpool in the semi finals at Wembley.
Soccer Express describe themselves as 'The sports tour specialists who arrange travel and accommodation packages for real football supporters following their team to major events in the UK & Europe. We provide all types of travel including coaches, rail, or flight packages.'
A spokesperson for the coach company told Capital:
"It was such a fantastic game at Everton last time I would have thought they (Sunderland) would have been favourites to win.
So to beat the sytem, as there's only 2 weeks to go til the semi final, we needed to be ready to go with the leaflets.
We had 10 staff down there last night ready to hand out leaflets to fans - but it back-fired because they lost and we couldn't go round taking 6 or 7,000 leaflets back.
If we've upset any supporters by putting leaflets on cars then we can only apologise."
