After the new Toy Story trailer dropped, fans are relating to an anxious spork in the middle of an existential crisis.
The trailer for Toy Story 4 dropped this week and fans revisited their favourite childhood characters in the first full look at the upcoming film. Woody, Buzz, Bo Peep and Jessie are all back for another adventure but it's new character Forky that has fans in their feelings.
Tony Hale (Arrested Development, Veep) voices Forky, a spork in the new film who is seemingly in the midst of an identity crisis.
Forky is a DIY toy created by Bonnie at school. Because of this, Forky doesn't feel that he is truly a toy and so he makes a break for it, only to be tailed by Woody.
Forky just became the most relatable movie character to ever exist. #ToyStory4 pic.twitter.com/Jo0D0fgvwV

If FORKY isn't a perfect and cartoonish expression of when depression and anxiety clash, I don't know what is. pic.twitter.com/l1PI9aLkIg

Okay but in the trailer for #ToyStory4 when Forky said he was made for the trash, I felt that pic.twitter.com/FiYlZYzvxg

Fans are feeling seen after Forky's "why am I alive" and "I was made for soup, salad, maybe chilli, and then the trash" lines in the trailer.

Who among us hasn't experienced this exact kind of existential crisis?
Me, for Toy Story 3, without kids: Meh, they need to let it go

Fortune Teller- "In twenty years you will cry about a spork named Forky."
Me- "Yeah... ok."
Forky has given fans a lot to consider ahead of Toy Story 4's June 21 premiere date. Audiences everywhere feel seen by that nervous little spork and it's a mood. In conclusion, we have decided to stan.
