The second season of The Umbrella Academy will consist of 10 one-hour episodes - and EVERYONE is returning.
It's official - Netflix has just renewed The Umbrella Academy for a second season.
All your favourite cast members will return as the Hargreeves siblings - including Aidan Gallagher whose cryptic tweets seemed to create a little bit of a panic within the fandom last week, prompting rumours of the show's cancellation. Ellen Page (Vanya), Tom Hopper (Luther), David Castañeda (Diego), Emmy Raver-Lampman (Allison), Robert Sheehan (Klaus), Aidan Gallagher (Five), and Justin H. Min (Ben) will all reprise their roles in season 2.
The second season will consist of 10 one-hour episodes and production will reportedly begin this summer. Additional casting news for season two will be announced at a later date. (New characters then?! Interesting...)
When is The Umbrella Academy season 2 coming out?
The release date for The Umbrella Academy season two has not been announced just yet but it's been said by show runner Steve Blackman that one season of the show takes "18 months to do."
As for what will happen in season 2? Well, at the end of season one, we saw the Hargreeves siblings vanish to a different dimension to escape Vanya's powers so expect some new settings and a lot of new characters.
The Umbrella Academy season 1 strayed away from the original comic book series (written by Gerard Way) so it's likely that season 2 will do the same.
The first series of the comic ended with the Hargreeves siblings saving the world instead of going back in time to undo the apocalypse. In the second volume of the comics, 'Dallas', Allison is still voiceless (after Vanya accidentally cut her throat) and is therefore powerless. But could the time/dimension jump mean that she gets her powers back? Will Ben be alive?! Can Vanya be stopped?! THERE'S SO MANY QUESTIONS!
