Amita Suman's first language is Bhojpuri and she learned English after arriving in the UK aged seven. She told Grazia India: "The Bhojpuri language has hardly any written literature but it does have a considerable oral narrative tradition. It is my first language, I learned to read, write and speak in English when I came to the UK in 2004." [@amitasuman_ via Instagram]
