WHERE DID HAGRID TAKE HARRY!?

In the dark corners of the Harry Potter fandom, some fans are causing havoc for JK Rowling. Normally, the writer does incredibly well to explain away any plot holes that fans have uncovered.

But, she’s also aware that some of her fans are smarter and more dedicated to the franchise than she is. She even told her fan site, “As obsessive fans will tell you, I do slip up! Most of the fansites will point you in the direction of my mistakes”.

Some of the plot holes are obvious to even the first time watcher:

  • Why don’t the wizarding students ever learn maths or English?
  • Why did they create a tournament that is terrible boring for spectators? (The Triwizard Tournament)
  • It’s never explained how Azkaban escapees like Sirius Black and Bellatrix Lestrange get their wands back.

However, some fans have now noticed quite a big error in both the books and the films.

When Lily and James Potter die on Halloween, Hagrid saves Harry and takes him to the Dursley’s. He says it’s an easy journey, he has a FLYING motorbike, thus, no traffic and Professor McGonogall has been hiding outside the Dursley’s house all day waiting for Harry to arrive.

Why then, does it take almost an entire day for Hagrid to get from Godric’s Hollow in the South West to Surrey? He was said to have arrived at the Dursley’s just before midnight on November 1st so, WHERE DID THEY GO?!

If it was so important that no Muggle neighbours discovered Harry in the wreckage at Godric’s Hollow and Professor McGonogall was waiting around all day, presumably meaning they were meant to arrive earlier than they did, where did Hagrid take baby Harry?!
