Police are investigating after the body of a woman was found in Ardwick.
At 2.15pm on Thursday 17th November 2011, police were called to a wooded area off Devonshire Street following reports a body had been discovered.
They found a body of a woman in her 50s and now trying to discover who she is and how she died.
Detective Inspector Terry Crompton from Longsight Police Station said: "The investigation is ongoing and officers are working very hard to establish the circumstances leading up to and surrounding her death.
"I understand residents may be worried but there is a police presence in the area to provide reassurance and I would encourage anyone who may have information to contact us as soon as possible."
