Investigations are underway after a woman was shot with an air weapon in Newall Green.
The 48 year old had to have a pellet surgically removed from her ear following the incident.
It happened as she walked her dogs in Rodgers Park off Firbank Road at about 5:10pm on Wednesday, it's not know who fired the air weapon.
Detective Constable Mark Atkinson, said:
'I want to reassure the community that we are treating this as an isolated incident and are working hard to find whoever is responsible.
'This is a serious offence and while the woman suffered a painful injury this dangerous and reckless act could have resulted in very serious injuries.
'I want anyone who was perhaps with the shooter or thinks they might know the culprit to contact the police.
'Rest assured we will treat the information you provide in strict confidence.'
