Detectives are investigating after a woman was raped in Manchester City Centre.
On Sunday, police were called to reports of a rape at a property on a road off Sackville Street.
An 18-year-old was walking home with friends following a night out in the city centre when an unknown man is believed to have joined the group.
The group continued walking to the property and once inside the man raped her at around 2am.
The man has been described as Asian, slightly under 6ft tall and of average build with short dark comb-over styled hair.
He was wearing dark clothing and appeared to be around 19 years old.
Enquiries are ongoing and detectives are appealing to anyone with information to come forward.
Detective Sergeant Nick Gibson, of GMP’s City of Manchester division, said: “We are doing everything we can to find the man responsible and are supporting the young woman at this incredibly distressing time.
“Although we believe this to be an isolated incident, we are taking this very seriously and you will see extra officers around the area over the coming days.
“We immediately launched an investigation and have been following several lines of enquiry throughout the course of the day including trawling through CCTV footage and door to door enquiries.
“If you recognise the description of the man or have any information that could assist our enquiries, no matter how small it may seem, please get in touch as a matter of urgency.”
