Police have issued a computerised image of a man whose identity remains unknown after his body as found in Wigan.
The grim discovery happened on Westwood Park Drive, Wigan on Friday.
His death is not suspicious, but fingerprints and DNA samples didn’t find him in the UK database.
He had no ID on him except for a bus ticket in his pocket, dated 14 January, timed 6.38am, from Leigh to Wigan.
Officer say no-one matching his description has been reported missing,
Detective Sergeant Graham Clare of Wigan CID said: “Since this man’s body was found we have carried out extensive enquiries both in Manchester and nationwide to establish this man’s identity.
“Unfortunately these have not yielded the results we were looking for so the next stage of our investigation is to go public with this.
“I find it inconceivable that no-one would miss a man who has not been seen alive for at least a month.
“From his appearance it may be that he is not a British national but possibly of eastern European origin.
“Our priority is to trace his family, inform of them of his death and return his body to them.”
Anyone who can help identify the man is asked to call Wigan CID on 0161 856 7962.
