Two arrests over Kingsway stabbing

Two people have been arrested in connection with a stabbing in Levenshulme.

Today (Friday 1 February 2019), officers from GMP’s City of Manchester Division executed a warrant at an address in Burnage and arrested a 21-year-old man and a 20-year-old woman on suspicion of section 18 assault.

Both remain in custody for questioning.

This relates to an incident that took place on Kingsway at around 6:55pm on Monday 28 January 2019.

A 22-year-old man was walking down the road when he was involved in an altercation with another person which resulting in him being stabbed.

He was taken to hospital to be treated for serious injuries, which are not believed to be life threatening.
