Teenage Boy Killed In Saddleworth Crash
A teenage boy has died following a serious road traffic collision in Saddleworth this morning.
Sometime after 2.30am on Monday 7 November 2011, police were called to Range Lane in Denshaw, Saddleworth, following reports of a road traffic collision.
Police and paramedics attended and found that a Peugeot 307 had collided with a telegraph pole, leaving four people injured.
A 17-year-old man was taken to hospital for treatment to a serious head injury, but later sadly died.
Three other people were taken to hospital for treatment to minor injuries, which are not believed to be life threatening.
An 18-year-old man has been arrested in relation to this incident. He remains in police custody for questioning.
Sergeant Lee Westhead from the Road Policing Unit said, "My team are working hard to establish the events surrounding this tragic loss of a young life and officers are supporting the teenager's family.
“I urge anyone who was in the area or has information about this collision, to come forward and speak to us. I am particularly keen to speak to anyone who saw a 2002 registered Red Peugeot 307 in the Oldham or West Yorkshire area in the early hours of Monday morning."
