North West Unemployment Up By 24,000

Unemployment in the North West's up by 24,000 between June and August, according to new statistics out this morning.
It's the biggest increase in the country.
294,000 people are now without a job in the region.
That figure is an increase of 2,000 compared to this time last year.
Nationally unemployment's down by 18,000 to 2.49 million.
It means the number of people in work has reached an all-time record high of almost 30 million.
Average earnings also increased by 0-point-7 per cent in the year to August - 0-point-5 down on the previous month.
