Moss Side Stab Victim Named

Police investigating the stabbing of woman in Moss Side have named her as Juliet Edwards.

At around 4.15 am on Saturday 23 July 2011, emergency services were called to a house on Great Western
Street, Moss Side following reports a 48-year-old woman had a serious injury.

She was taken to hospital but died a short time later.

The woman has now been named as Juliet Edwards of Great Western Street, Moss Side.

A 58-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in police custody.

A 21-year-old man has been released without charge.

A Home Office post mortem revealed Juliet's cause of death was from a single stab wound.

Detective Chief Inspector Joanne Rawlinson from the Major Investigation Team said: "We have a team of highly trained detectives working on this investigation to establish the full circumstances of what has taken place.

I would like to appeal for anyone that was in the area around the time of the incident who may have seen anything or heard something to come forward.

I would also like to hear from anyone who knew Juliet, who may have information to assist with our investigation"
