Man Dies From Head Injuries In Bolton

Police in Bolton are investigating the death of a man who was found with serious head injuries in the town centre.

Emergency services were called to Victoria Square last night, following reports that a man had collapsed.

He died later in hospital.

Police are currently treating his death as suspicious.

Detective Inspector Denise Pye, of Bolton CID, said:
"We really are at an early stage of this investigation so I can't begin to speculate on what's happened.

What I can say is this man has been found with a serious head injury and he sadly later died. We have spoken to a number of witnesses, some of which tried to go to the man's aid, but no-one has yet told us they saw him receive his injury.

This happened right in the heart of the town centre on a busy Friday night, so I am confident there will be people out there with information.

If you know how this man came to be injured, or if you saw him earlier in the night perhaps, then please get in touch."
