A man has been attacked in Stockport, leaving him with a broken jaw.
At 9pm on Christmas Day, the 45-year-old victim was standing in the entrance of the Palace Snooker Club on Mill Lane, Woodley, when he saw a man throwing a bottle near a car parked opposite the club.
The man then walked off.
The victim cleared the glass near to the car and was approached by the owner.

Detective Constable Neil Hewitt from Stockport CID said: “The victim was trying to carry out a helpful act by clearing the glass and for his trouble, he was attacked and left with a broken jaw.
“We believe the victim was helped by a woman and a man after being assaulted and I would urge them to get in contact with police and let us know what happened. Anyone who saw the attack or witnessed the man throw the bottle, please get in touch”
