A 24-year-old woman has died after she suffered stab wounds at a house in Droylsden.
Police were called to Mellor Street at 7.45pm last night after reports that a woman had been assaulted.
She was found with stab wounds and taken to Tameside Hospital where she later died.
Police think she was involved in an argument with a former boyfriend, it’s understood the 24 year old man was arrested on suspicion of murder.
Detective Superintendent Vincent Petrykowski, said: “We are in the early stages of the investigation and are working to establish the full circumstances of what happened.
“I would like to reassure residents that we do not believe there is any danger to the community, we believe this is an isolated incident and would urge anyone who may have seen something to contact us.”
