A 14 year old boy is in hospital after a machete attack in Liverpool.
Police were called after the boy presented himself at hospital at around 5.20pm on Saturday afternoon with suspected knife wounds.
The incident is believed to have happened just before 4pm near the gates that lead onto park on Higher Lane, Halewood when the victim, who was walking alone, was reportedly attacked by a group of people. Descriptions of the offenders are yet to be confirmed.
The boy suffered injuries to his head and leg and remains in hospital for treatment. However, his injures are not thought to be life threatening.
Officers have spent yesterday evening and this morning in the area conducting forensic analysis, CCTV and house to house enquiries to piece together the full circumstances and find those responsible.
