Zara Larsson has responded to James Charles' claims she was being "hypocritical" after suggesting he tried to proposition her boyfriend.
Swedish singer Zara Larsson has apologised to James Charles on social media, hours after he posted his latest video responding to the recent criticism made of him.
Previously, Zara responded to the claims made by Tati Westbrook of James - in which she called him out for alleged predatory behaviour against straight men, among others things - by tweeting: “I’m cackling cause he hit up my boyfriends in the dms several times knowing damn well he’s straight.” She later backtracked on the claims, explaining that it wasn’t several times after all, but actually just “one dm and some comments under pictures”.

But now she’s come out with a full-on apology over her involvement in all the drama, after James called out Zara for being “hypocritical” due to the fact that she first propositioned her now boyfriend, model Brian H Whittaker, via a tweet which included shirtless photos of him.
In the video, James said: “Why is it okay for Zara Larsson, a woman with a public platform, to tweet these photos of a shirtless man and [say what she did], but for me as a gay man, to DM the same person in private with a simple comment, is predatory?"
"These stereotypes around gay men have been and continue to be very, very harmful to the community and have historically been used to vilify gay men in society."
Responding to the comments yesterday (May 20), Zara tweeted: “I always try my best to learn and apologize if I'm wrong. I'm sorry @jamescharles for getting involved before I actually knew the truth and for the anxiety you must have felt about everything.”
She also posted a series of selfies over which she wrote: “Actually, regarding my previous post (now deleted), a gay man coming at a straight man is not the same as a straight man coming at a lesbian. It’s not uncommon for straight men to think that women in relationships with each other exists only because straight men think it’s ‘hot’. And while doing so, they’re basically saying that their sexuality and attraction for other women is not a real thing.”
James Charles responded to the tweets with a straightforward: “thank you for apologizing angel, it's alright, all love from me!”

Before that, Zara posted a longer explanation about why she originally got involved, which she has now deleted. She said: "Of course you're allowed to flirt with people online, like I did, and to call someone beautiful in the comments is only nice! No harm done. I do think it's disrespectful though to try it with someone who is taken and I have a hard time believing you didn't know that we were in a relationship since he posts about me."
She continued: “What seems to be the thing here is that my boyfriend wasn’t the only one and that’s why I don’t condone that behaviour. You have for example previously tweeted that straight men will be the death of you etc which is concerning considering the fact that they will never give consent, since they don’t play for team D”.
James Charles has previously openly talked about his attraction to "straight guys", which became part of the recent controversy when Tati Westbrook claimed his attraction crossed over into harassment.
