Rob Howard & Lauren Layfield 6am - 10am
We know you don't want to look at 00's of boring old selfies. While everyone else is looking at all those selfies we've seen time and again, Capital is taking a look at 15 of 2013's best which actually meant something and gave truth to the phrase a picture tells a thousand words.
First of all it's PSY! That's gold enough, but the fact he's in an empty Wembley Stadium - where he would later fulfil a dream and perform on the same stage as his musical heroes Queen meant so much more. We love the corner shot with his eyes just peeking out. Bravo.
It was the romance story that got the whole world speaking earlier in the year. Were Chris and Rihanna back together after everything they'd been through? They didn't care what was said in the press, by other fans and decided to show the world they were carrying on regardless with this snap.
It's half selfie half photobomb. The Wanted's Jay takes things up a notch when he catches PSY grabbing 20 winks. There will never be another photo like this...ever!
Who knew this monkey would go on to hit headlines around the world. Forget the IKEA monkey from 2012, all the world was talking about this year was Justin's pet. Also, the fact he's trying to steal his hat is a lovely bonus!
It's one thing taking a selfie of yourself. It's another getting right involved with the fans and giving everyone a moment they will truly relish and remember. We love the chap on the left, the fact the girl on the right is just loving the camera and of course Rita's face. Alos, how big is her hand?
So, you've just woken up from the night before. You're lying naked in bed. What else to do but crack out the camera phone? Miley's been caught by the paparazzi all year but decided she would celebrate turning 22 with her own slant on the selfie.
"Me & @BABYKAELY in the studio...she is the future...@BABYKAELY is an amazing talented #wonderCHILD." This is what the Black Eyed Peas man wrote to accompany this shot. Will is known to be able to find the freshest new talent, so could this be us looking into the future of music? Watch this space!
Yep, he's back again. Maybe we should have just done PSY's best selfies of the year...anyway, we digress. So what do we have here? We've got one of the hardest working managers in the business probably in the middle of an insanely important conversation but the ever-entertaining K-Pop star is doing what he does best – keeping the public happy. It's an affectionate moment filled with humour and we can't get enough.
No one loves a selfie more than Jessie. She raised an enormous amount of money for charity with her head shave and couldn't wait to start snapping with her new do. It was a big talking point of the year and also led to many wicked short cuts to follow.
Imagine your luck when first of all you bag tickets to see Queen Bey. Secondly you get to the gig and you realise your seats are ace. Thirdly when you see Beyonce coming towards you. And fourth, she poses alongside you when you get your phone out whilst she is singing. Talk about right place right time.
You could look through RiRi's Instagram feed and find 00s of these, but this one, on the cool angle with a bright yellow bikini did it for us. It defines her attitude and we also love the fact she's wincing because of the glare.
This selfie came in the midst of rumours surrounding the singer's personal life linking her to no other than X Factor boss Simon Cowell. Nethertheless, she decided to have some fun and forget about all the press talk and said she'd had a fun day playing with some younger members of her family. It also came during the same week she teased new music.
It's Lady Gaga wearing a face mask...need we say anymore?
It sort of came out of nowhere and was quickly deleted from Justin's social media account. Eager fans soon caught wind though and started pasting it around the world. It was taken during a week of rumours that Selena had joined Justin at his hotel during his 'Believe' European tour. *Insert dramatic music*
It was their first appearance at the event this year and James and Bradley decided to have a bit of fun with a Capital mic cube and a phone. What also made it extra funny was the fact they nabbed the phone from one of our presenters. #Cheeky
