The Capital Late Show With Marvin Humes 7pm - 10pm
From Justin Bieber attacking the paparazzi to THAT Miley Cyrus performance. 2013 has brought its fair share of big talking points. Join Capital as we take a look at some of them now.
All year the world had been asking the question 'When will Beyonce's new album arrive?' She was performing at the Super Bowl - no new music. Announced a new tour - no new music. Then the end of the year came and we'd resided ourselves to the fact it was going to be at least 2014. Then BAM! Out of nowhere she posted the new album online with 17 videos no less. It's gone on to become iTunes' fastest selling of all time.
During the 'We Found Love' singer's gig in Birmingham for her 'Diamonds' world tour, the singer was captured on a fan's camera phone hitting out at a member of the audience who was grabbing hold of her. Rihanna was walking at the front of the stage when a fan kept hold of her arm, forcing her to lash out to free herself. Picture: Splash
The pair reportedly came to blows in a parking lot earlier in the year and Chris showed he was still upset with Frank by remaining seated as the R&B star collected Best Urban Contemporary Album for his album 'Channel Orange' at the Grammy Awards. Just this month, Frank was pictured wearing a t-shirt with Chris' face - proving this is one feud that shows no signs of going away. Picture: Twitter
The singer's time in the capital on his 'Believe' tour wasn't without controversy. Following his late stage arrival at the O2, he was then seen taking a swing at a member of the paparazzi as he left his hotel. Justin received a host of supportive messages from stars in the music world - including One Direction, Will.i.am and Professor Green.. Picture: Flynet
It was a stage jump that went wrong in a lot of ways. Miguel was in the middle of a performance when he mis-judged his leap and landed straight on top of a fan's head. Luckily she was ok and got to meet him backstage. #Result
As well as making out with a sledgehammer, Miley also rides around on a huge Wrecking Ball completely naked (except for a pair of boots). The video eclipsed the VEVO 24 hour record when it was released and is fast becoming her best ever.
It was Kanye's gig at the Hammersmith Apollo in London when he attacked the comeback single of Justin Timberlake. The track features Ye's 'Watch The Throne' collaborator Jay-Z and he told the stunned crowd in attendance that night: Man, I got love for Hov but I ain't f*****g with that 'Suit & Tie'." Justin then appeared to take his own swipe at Kanye during a performance of the song on a chat show in which he altered the lyrics to say: "My hit's so sick got rapper's acting dramatic."
Following two seasons on the music reality show, Tulisa was not invited back for a third stint as Sharon Osbourne replaced her. Just weeks later and she was back in the papers and arrested over drug claims.
It will most likely go down as the song of 2013, but it will also be known for producing one of the raciest videos of all time. Models Emily Ratajkowski, Elle Evans and Jessi M'Bengue dance around topless as Robin, Pharrell and T.I. offer some of their best "old man" moves. Robin even admitted that he had his own skepticism about the promo before his wife Paula Patton gave it her seal of approval.
The 'Marry The Night' singer revealed she was almost forced to have hip surgery on her injury admitting it was far worse then anyone expected. Gaga was forced to deliver an emotional post to her fans as she revealed the remaining dates on her 'Born This Way' ball would be cancelled. Gaga had a hole "the size of a quarter" in her hip and was seen out and about in a wheelchair as she recovered. Gaga made her stage return at the iTunes Festival 2013 earlier this month and is still to rearrange her cancelled shows. Picture: Splash
The girls reunited for a tenth anniversary tour at the start of the year but brought the final curtain down on their time together following the final show in Liverpool. Things then turned a little nasty when Nadine opened up on Twitter and said the decision was nothing to do with her and she wanted to keep going. The other girls admitted to being surprised at the declaration but have all since gone on to start new projects. Picture: Facebook
It was a huge surprise when Nadine posted this Instagram message out of the blue. It was even more of a surprise because it was still unclear if Nadine was back with her ex-fiance Jason Bell. The world is also still awaiting the first picture of the singer with her baby bump.
The event often conjures up an incident that has the whole world talking for days and Miley's performance with Robin Thicke certainly did that. As well as grinding up against the 36 year-old star, she was also seen continually sticking her tongue out, twerking and making rude gestures with a foam finger. Miley has since admitted she wanted to make history with her appearance - check!
Parents were outraged when Justin failed to turn up on stage for the opening night of his O2 Arena residency in London. The teen titan was two hours late and issued an apology to his fans, saying although there were technical issues, there was still "no excuse". Many were forced to leave early in order to make public transport home and missed much of the show.
It was during the Girls Aloud 'Ten' tour where Cheryl first debuted a design of roses on her lower back. Fans were initally shocked at the size of the tattoo - but things turned up a notch in August when her tattooist shared the finished article - revealing that it covered her entire rear! One over-zealous One Direction fan managed to hit the 19 year-old star square in the.....private area during one of their 'Take Me Home' world tour shows. The singer had a quick stretch, walked off the knock and carried on with the rest of the gig.
The 'So What' singer was "heartbroken" at the decision to cancel her Birmingham show due to illness. She was even more upset to read the abuse she received from fans over the decision. Writing on her official website, she said there was nothing she could have done to prevent the decision and "saddened" to see she didn't get the benefit of the doubt from her followers. "For the loyal and understanding fans - I am so so sorry if I've hurt you in any way. For the rest of you - kindly kiss my entire almost back to healthy a**," she said.
The rapper is no stranger to a bit of controversy and things all got a bit heated on Twitter in July when she called Lily Allen's husband and children "ugly!" Lily fought back with a blow of her own accusing Azealia of being nothing more than "a one hit wonder". There's certainly no love lost between these two.
After her break-up with the One Direction man and subsequent reveal that her song 'I Knew You Were Trouble' was written about him, Taylor took one final swipe upon collecting her Best Female Video prize at the VMAs 2013. She thanked the "inspiration" of the track with the cameras then quickly all aiming straight at the 'Little Things' singer.
The US star shocked the audience in Amsterdam when she lit up and smoked marijuana on stage at the EMAs. The incident took place as she accepted the prize for Best Video.
