We take a look back at some of the biggest names in the celebrity fragrance business following news that Rihanna is planning to release a perfume aimed at men.
The 'We Found Love' singer launched her first fragrance Reb'l Fleur back in February 2011 to huge success and has promised fans she is already planning a second female fragrance. On top of that Rihanna has also revealed plans to launch a fragrance aimed at men and promised the male perfume will have a "cozy and sexy" scent.
The 'Teenage Dream' singer has also got involved with the fragrance game having launched her first product Purr in November 2010 before following it up with companion scent Meow in December 2011 with a huge launch event at The Grove in Los Angeles.
Beyonce launched her first fragrance Heat back in February 2010 using the tagline "Catch the fever", which was advertised alongside the 'Love On Top' singer's cover of the popular song 'Fever'. Bey's second perfume Heat Rush launched in February 2011 and was intended to be used more in the daytime, while her third endorsed fragrance Pulse launched in September last year following the release of Beyonce's album '4'. The X Factor judge celebrated her first year as a panelist on the popular ITV1 show with the release of her first fragrance The Female Boss. The 'Young' singer's famous moniker, which she also has tattooed on her forearm, inspired the perfume, which Tulisa has described as "something powerful without losing its girlieness".
Justin Bieber was said to have scored the biggest celebrity fragrance launch in June 2011 when he released his first women's fragrance Someday. The launch was held at Macy's in New York City and the perfume went on to make over $3 million at the store in just three weeks. Justin has since promised to release more fragrances in the future including plans to launch a product aimed at men.
Usher launched his joint men and women's fragrances UR for Men and Ur for Women back in 2007 to great success and the 'Climax' singer continued this trend when he launched Usher VIP in 2009.
Jennifer Lopez is arguably the queen of the celebrity fragrances with a grand total of eighteen products released to date. The 'Dance Again' singer released her first perfume Glow by J-Lo back in 2003 and has continued the line with updated release almost every year. The American Idol judge's most recent fragrance Glowing has been announced and is set for release in May this year.
Christina Aguilera arrived with her first fragrance Xpose way back in 2004 and has continued to release several best-selling perfumes since with Simply Christina becoming the number one perfume in the UK and further scents Inspire, By Night, Royal Desire and last year's Secret Potion all performing well.
The pop princess has endorsed a huge range of Britney Spears perfumes since the launch of her first fragrance Curious back in 2004. Britney has released a total of ten fragrances over the course of her career, with the most recent product Cosmic Radiance launching in 2011.
The 'Beez In The Trap' rapper is set to follow in the footsteps of her pop peers soon after confirming she is already working on her own fragrance for the 'Barbz'. Nicki has partnered up with Give Back Brands for the project and teased to Capital FM the new fragrance "smells like success".
