Top Ten Music Videos Of 2011: Most Watched On Capital

Controversial entries for Rihanna and Lady Gaga, two for Jessie J and fun in the sun for One Direction in our chart of the most watched music videos on Capital FM in 2011...

Despite only being released in October, Rihanna's controversial 'We Found Love' video became the most watched video on Capital FM in 2011. The equally controversial 'Man Down' also makes an appearance in the top ten video chart, as does 'California King Bed' - making Rihanna officially the most watched music video star of the year.

The second most watched, with two entries in the top ten, is fellow Jingle Bell Ball headliner, Jessie J, while there are one-off entries for One Direction, JLS, Bruno Mars, Lady Gaga and Maroon 5 featuring Christina Aguilera.

'We Found Love'

Rihanna's 'We Found Love' video, filmed in Northern Ireland, depicts a love/hate relationship and contains controversial scenes where Rihanna 'vomits' party streamers and appears to black out on a street after a party. The single is one of her most successful to date, and crowned off a year in which the Bajan singer won a Grammy Award, kicked off a worldwide tour, released a sixth studio album and was named the 'Sexiest Woman Alive' by Esquire magazine. 'We Found Love' was produced by Scottish DJ Calvin Harris.
Bruno Mars
'The Lazy Song'

Bruno Mars' video for smash hit single 'The Lazy Song' features Bruno and his mates dressing up as monkeys and dancing around the living room. 'The Lazy Song' was Bruno's second Vodafone Big Top 40 No.1 of the year, with 'Grenade' topping the chart earlier in 2011. The video for 'The Lazy Song' was the second most watched on in 2011.
Lady Gaga

Coming in at five and a half minutes long and released in the lead up to Easter, Lady Gaga's 'Judas' came under fire from religious groups for its use of biblical imagery. Lady Gaga played the role of Mary Magdelena in the controversial video, while Judas himself was played by actor Norman Reedus. 'Judas' was the third most watched video on in 2011.
Maroon 5 feat. Christina Aguilera
'Moves Like Jagger'

Paying homage to Sir Mick Jagger (whose surname is referenced in the track 18 times by  Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine), 'Moves Like Jagger' topped the Vodafone Big Top 40 chart for two weeks in 2011. The video, which also stars Christina Aguilera, was the fourth most watched on in 2011.
'Man Down'

Rihanna's second entry in the top ten most watched videos on in 2011 was even more controversial than 'We Found Love'. Rihanna is seen gunning down a man outside a nightclub in Barbados, with the inference being that she is getting revenge on an attacker. The video was heavily criticised and censored.
Jessie J
'Nobody's Perfect'

Jessie's hit single 'Nobody's Perfect' encourages listeners to accept themselves for what they are and forgive themselves for  their mistakes. The accompanying video was the sixth most watched on in 2011.
One Direction
'What Makes You Beautiful'

The video for One Direction's debut single and Vodafone Big Top 40 No.1 'What Makes You Beautiful' sees Harry, Liam, Niall, Louis and Zayn driving around in America and frolocking on a Miami beach with sexy models. Read the 'What Makes You Beautiful' lyrics.
'She Makes Me Wanna'

JLS' video for smash hit single 'She Makes Me Wanna' (the first to be taken from the boys' album 'Jukebox') was the eighth most watched music video in 2011.
Jessie J feat. B.o.B
'Price Tag'

Jessie J's second appearance in the most watched videos of 2011 was for hit single 'Price Tag', a song about the insignificance of material possessions. Check out the 'Price Tag' lyrics.
'California King Bed'

Rihanna's third appearance in's chart of the most watched videos in 2011 was far less controversial than the two higher entries for the Bajan singer. The video for 'California King Bed', a rare ballad from RiRi, sees the singer mooching around a plush villa as she laments her fading love. *Sigh*
