James Corden to host the BRITs

Comedian, James Corden has been announced as the host of this year's BRIT Award ceremony which takes places on Tuesday 15th February at The O2 Arena.

James Corden hosted the awards back in 2009, along with fellow Gavin and Stacey star, Mathew Horne and Kylie Minogue.  After a year's break, when Peter Kay took the helm, James returns as host of the show which will be broadcast live on ITV1.

Following last year's spectacular 30th anniversary celebrations, 2011 marks the beginning of a new era for Britain's most prestigious music awards ceremony. Among the high profile changes set to make The BRIT Awards 2011 like no other in the show's history are a new home for the ceremony itself, a bespoke BRIT statue styled by Vivienne Westwood, the inclusion of artists in the Voting Academy and a newly formatted show that climaxes with the MasterCard British Album Of The Year Award.

James said, "I have always loved The BRITs and I am honoured to have been asked to host such a prestigious event".
