Woman Dies After Leicestershire Bus Crash

A pedestrian has died following a collision with a bus in Humberstone village.

Police were called to the incident at 12.30pm on Tuesday 12 March at the junction of Abbotts Road North and Main Street.

The pedestrian, a woman in her 60s, sustained life-threatening injuries.

She was taken to the Queen’s Medical Centre in Nottingham where she died on Friday (15 March).

No one else was injured in the incident.

Roads were closed at Hungarton Boulevard to Steins Lane and Vicarage Lane to Main Street to allow for an investigation of the scene.

Detective Constable John Borlase, from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “Our enquiries into the circumstances leading up to this collision are ongoing.

“We would still like to speak to anyone who was driving in the area and saw the bus being driven beforehand or the collision itself.

“I would also ask for anyone who may have dashcam footage capturing the collision to get in touch.”
