A man from Derby has told Capital people don't realise how damaging steroids can be after one of his friends died from using them.
He didn't want to be named, but told us:
'I know of people who've taken it and some have suffered and passed away.
'They were deceiving themselves by not doing it properly but taking the drugs to get a better shaped body.
'They paid for it with their life'
A study has found children as young as 13 are taking steroids to try and improve their physiques with experts saying they can cause organ damage and psychological problems.
Parents in the East Midlands have told Capital they think kids should be better educated in schools with lessons on the dangers on steroids and perfomance enhancing drugs.
Up to a million adults in the UK are reportedly taking steroids to try and improve their performance.
