Two police cars responding to a 999 call crashed in Nottinghamshire overnight, one went into the other while driving to a potential burglary in Mansfield Woodhouse.
One of the cars went into bungalow, damaging it and bursting a water pipe but no-one inside was hurt.
Police are working with the homeowner to find another place to stay until a structural engineer has assessed the damage.
Two officers are being treated for minor injuries at King's Mill Hospital. A third officer, who was in one of the police cars, wasn't hurt.
An investigation into what happened has started.
