Murder Investigation: Derby

A murder investigation has started in Derby after the death of a man who was assaulted on Friday.
The 71-year-old was attacked while out with his friend walking her dogs.
The assault happened between 12.15am and 12.30am on Friday January 2 on the junction of Mercian Way and Gerard Street
The victim died at the QMC this morning after being treated for head injuries.
A 22-year-old man from Forman Street in Derby was arrested on Friday afternoon and charged yesterday with causing grievous bodily harm and common assault.
