Memorial Service For Violent Crime Victims

Families of murder victims tell Capital why they'll be there in Nottingham.

A ceremony to remember those who lost their lives as a result of violent crime is being held in Nottingham tonight.

It's been organised by Ron Lawrence and the service will include songs, readings and poems to promote togetherness and support for each other - as well as giving people the chance to reflect and remember.

It's being held at St Andrew's Church, Mansfield Road, Nottingham, on Wednesday 21 December at 6.30pm.

The event will also commemorate anti-gun campaigner Janice Collins, mother of murder victim Brendon Lawrence, who lost her battle with cancer last December.
