Man's Jaw Broken After Derby Bar Attack

Police looking to speak with man.

Detectives have released two images of a man they want to speak to about a serious assault.

A 21-year-old man was leaving Jimmy's bar, in St James Street, Derby, when he was punched in the face. He fell to the floor and hit his head. He was taken to the Royal Derby Hospital where it was discovered he had a broken jaw.

The victim did not see who hit him but he did intervene to break up a fight inside the bar earlier that evening and officers are investigating whether the two incidents are linked.

The attack happened at around 2.30am on Saturday, April 7.

The man police want to speak to is described as white with dark hair. He wore dark trousers, a dark jacket and a white shirt with a picture on the front.

Anyone with information should call police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
