Police say a man in his forties is in a stable condition in hospital after being stabbed in a Leicestershire town last night.
Officers were called at 7.30pm yesterday evening (Tuesday December 23) after a report of an assault in the street in Green Lane in Market Harborough.
The victim, a man in his forties, has a single stab wound and has been taken to the University Hospital in Coventry in a stable condition.
A 58-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident and remains in police custody.
Detective Constable Eliot Burgess, the investigating officer, said: “We are keen to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the assault or the events leading up to it.
“If anyone has any information at all we would urge them to please contact police.”
