A Derbyshire man who was caught trying to get a teenage girl to commit sex acts online, has been jailed for 8 month.
31 year old Paul Williams from Meadow Lane, Newhall didn't realise he was actually talking to an undercover police officer from Devon and Cornwall Police.
The offences took place in August and September last year and Williams pleaded guilty to three charges of attempting to incite sexual activity with a child.
DI Mark Knibbs, from Derbyshire police's Public Protection Unit, said:
"We welcome the sentence given out and see this as a testament to the hard work that all partner agencies undertake on a daily basis to keep the children of Derbyshire safe.
"We have worked closely with Derby City Council on this case and can assure parents that there is no evidence to suggest that Williams harmed any children."
