Police are looking for the man who attacked and bit off part of another man's ear in a Nottingham bar.
During the attack the victim had part of his ear bitten off and has subsequently undergone surgery. He has been left extremely shaken.
It happened sometime between 11pm and midnight on Saturday 4 May in Basement Bar in King Street. The victim was treated by paramedics at the scene before being taken to Nottingham’s Queen’s Medical Centre.
The 25-year-old man, who wishes to remain anonymous, said: “I’ve had surgery and might need more, but I’ll have to cross that bridge when I come to it.
“I was punched repeatedly in the face and my cornea was scratched. As I tried to defend myself, part of my ear was bitten off.
“For someone to do what they did to me with no thought has affected me potentially for the rest of my life.
“That night, I'd had a few drinks and it was only the second time I’d been out this year. I was no threat to anyone.”
Detective Constable Laura Gooch, from Radford Road Police Station, said: “This was an unprovoked attack which has resulted in what is clearly a very serious injury and the victim has been deeply affected by what happened.
“Anyone going out in Nottingham should not have to fear violence so if you saw anything that night and think you could help our investigation, please get in touch.”
