Man Charged With Derby Attack

A 30-year-old man from Derby has appeared in court after armed officers responded to reports of an attack in the city.

Jamie Austin was arrested on suspicion of assault after reports two people had been attacked close to the Sainsbury's - at the junction of Boyer Street and Farm Street.

The two victims were taken to hospital with injuries caused by a knife and both are now recovering at home.

The 30-year-old of Warner Street was charged with two counts of assault occasioning grievous bodily harm, one count of affray, one count of possession of an offensive weapon and one count of criminal damage.

He was remanded in custody after appearing at Southern Derbyshire Magistrates Court.
