Officers are appealing for witnesses after a fight in Evington left a man being taken to hospital with serious head injuries.
It happened around 7pm on Saturday (20th July) and is believed to have been as a result of an argument between two women who were both driving along East Park Road – only a matter of minutes before.
After both cars travelled to Davana Road occupants of the vehicles, along with other people who were nearby, became involved in a verbal and physical argument.
A 28-year-old man suffered an injury to his head and is currently in hospital - his condition is described as serious but stable.
A 44-year-old woman was also left with minor injuries.
No weapons are believed to have been used or seen during the fight.
Detective Sergeant Fraser Macintosh, who is investigating the incident, said: “This incident is believed to have started because of a minor verbal argument between two women and has ended with two people suffering physical injuries – one of which is currently in a serious condition in hospital.
“During initial enquiries with people at the scene it is believed there were many people who may have witnessed exactly what happened and some people may have recorded some of the incident on their phone.
“If you are one of these people and you have not yet spoken to police – please come forward. Information and evidence you have may be able to help with our investigation.”
Two men, aged 19 and 27, have been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm and have been released under investigation.
