Man Shot In Wolverhampton Dies From Injuries

A man has died after being shot in Wolverhampton.
He was taken to hospital in a critical condition on Friday (20th July) night but died in the early hours of this morning (Saturday 21st July).
West Midlands Police have now launched a murder investigation.
Officers were called to Valley Road in Park Village just after 9pm after reports of gunshots but told minutes later that a man had been taken to New Cross Hospital.
His family will be supported by specially trained officers
The Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust has put out a statement after suggestions that the hospital had been caught up in the original shooting:
Spokesperson for the Trust said: “At approx. 9.30pm tonight a man was brought in to the Emergency Department at New Cross Hospital with a gunshot wound. There were no gun shots fired at New Cross Hospital. The hospital is functioning as normal. No further comment can be made.
