Concert rehearsal at the Ricoh Arena in Coventry caused a fake fire alarm on Twitter
Pictures being shared appeared to show Coventry’s Ricoh Arena on fire - but the blaze was in fact pyrotechnics used by band Muse ahead of their gig there on Wednesday the 22nd of May.
The photo however (Photo: @kate_mulgrew) sparked rumours the stadium was ablaze.
The arena’s official Twitter account however tweeted to say: ''Just to confirm there is no fire here at the Ricoh Arena. They are just testing everything ready for Wednesday night’s Muse concert.''
West Midlands Fire (@WMFS) also confirmed that stage operators for Muse were doing sound and lighting checks involving a smoke machine.
''There is no fire at the Ricoh Arena Coventry. Pyrotechnic testing is currently going on for a concert''
