Driver Goes The Wrong Way Down The Aston Expressway In Birmingham

A man's in hospital with life threatening injuries after police say a car went the wrong way down the Aston Expressway this afternoon.
Police have told Capital they were called just after 12.30pm today (23 March).
Paramedics were called and a 43-year-old driver was taken to hospital with life threatening injuries. The drivers of the other two cars were treated for minor injuries.
The Expressway was closed fro three hours this afternoon while emergency services dealt with the collision. It was re-opened just before 3.30pm.
PC Damian Gibson, from the force’s Collision Investigation Unit, said: "We can confirm that one car was travelling the wrong way along the Expressway and we are still trying to ascertain why that was.
"We are now appealing to anyone who was in the area and saw the collision to come forward.
"A man was taken to hospital with life threatening injuries and at this stage we are still trying to contact his family to make them aware."
