Police in Cradley Heath have released a CCTV image of a man they would like to speak to in connection with a sexual assault on a bus.

The assault happened on the 243 bus from Dudley to Merry Hill at around 1.20pm on Wednesday, 30 April.

The victim − a woman in her late teens − was travelling on the bus when a man sat next to her. He began to be abusive towards her, so she asked him to move so she could sit elsewhere.

The man refused to move and then sexually assaulted the woman by grabbing her inappropriately, before getting off the bus in Cradley Heath. He was last seen walking off towards Reddal Hill Road.

The man is described as white, in his 50s and around 5ft 9ins tall. He was wearing a green jacket, blue jeans, brown boots and was carrying a sports bag.

Detective Constable Warren Moore from the force’s Safer Travel team said: "People should be able to travel on buses around the West Midlands safely and without being harassed.

"Whoever committed this assault needs to be found so we can bring them to justice and ensure they don’t carry out any further offences."
